성경말씀: 이사야 9:1-7

1 고통의 땅에 그늘이 걷힐 것이다. 옛날에는 여호와께서 스불론 땅과 납달리 땅으로 하여금 부끄러움을 당하게 하셨다. 하지만 앞으로는 지중해로 나가는 길과 요단 강 건너편, 그리고 북쪽으로는 이스라엘 백성이 아닌 외국인이 살고 있는 갈릴리까지, 이 모든 지역을 영광스럽게 하실 것이다.
2 어둠 속에 살던 백성이 큰 빛을 보고, 짙은 그늘의 땅에 살던 백성에게 환한 빛이 비췰 것이다.
3 “하나님, 주께서 그 민족을 크게 하시고, 그 백성을 행복하게 하십니다. 추수할 때에 사람들이 기뻐하듯이, 그들이 주님 앞에서 즐거워합니다. 전쟁에서 빼앗은 물건을 나누는 백성처럼 기뻐합니다.”
4 주께서 미디안을 물리치시던 때처럼 그들이 진 무거운 멍에를 내려 주시고, 그들의 어깨를 짓누르던 무거운 막대기를 벗겨 주시며, 주의 백성을 치던 몽둥이를 없애 주실 것이다.
5 군인들이 요란스런 소리를 내며 신고 다니던 군화와 피로 얼룩진 군복이 모두 땔감이 되어 불에 사라질 것이다.
6 왜냐하면 우리에게 한 아기가 태어날 것이기 때문이다. 하나님께서 우리에게 아들을 주실 것이다. 그의 어깨 위에 왕권이 주어질 것이다. 그의 이름은 기묘자, 모사, 전능하신 하나님, 영원히 살아 계신 아버지, 평화의 왕이시다.
7 그의 왕권은 점점 커지겠고, 평화가 그의 나라에서 영원히 이어진다. 그가 다윗의 보좌와 다윗의 나라에서 다스릴 것이다. 그가 정의와 공평으로, 이제부터 영원토록 그 나라를 견고하게 세울 것이다. 만군의 여호와께서 이 일을 이루실 것이다. 왜냐하면 주께서 자기 백성을 뜨겁게 사랑하시기 때문이다.

3 You will enlarge the nation of Israel, and its people will rejoice. They will rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest and like warriors dividing the plunder.
4 For you will break the yoke of their slavery and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders. You will break the oppressor’s rod, just as you did when you destroyed the army of Midian.
5 The boots of the warrior and the uniforms bloodstained by war will all be burned. They will be fuel for the fire.
6 For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called. Wonderful Counselor①, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. / ①Or Wonderful, Counselor
7 His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!

성경말씀: 마가복음 6:30-44

30 사도들이 예수님께로 돌아왔습니다. 그리고 자신들이 했던 일과 가르쳤던 것을 모두 예수님께 말씀드렸습니다.

31 예수님께서 말씀하셨습니다. "외딴 곳으로 따로 가서 잠시 쉬도록 하라." 이렇게 말씀하신 것은 오고가는 사람들이 너무 많아 예수님과 사도들이 식사할 시간조차 없었기 때문입니다.

32 그래서 그들은 외딴 곳으로 배를 타고 갔습니다.

33 그러나 떠나는 모습을 보고 사람들이 그들인 줄 알아챘습니다. 그래서 사람들은 여러 성읍에서 길을 따라 함께 달려가서, 그들보다 먼저 그 곳에 이르렀습니다.

34 예수님께서 배에서 내리시면서 많은 사람들을 보셨습니다. 예수님께서는 그들을 불쌍히 여기셨는데 그것은 그들이 마치 목자 없는 양과 같았기 때문입니다. 예수님께서는 그들에게 많은 것을 가르쳐 주셨습니다.

35 이미 날이 저물었습니다. 제자들이 예수님께 와서 말했습니다. "이 곳은 빈 들이고, 시간도 너무 늦었습니다.

36 그러니 사람들을 보내어, 근처에 있는 농가나 마을에 가서 먹을 것을 사 먹게 하는 것이 좋겠습니다."

37 그러나 예수님께서 대답하셨습니다. "너희가 먹을 것을 주어라." 그들이 예수님께 말했습니다. "그러면 우리가 가서 이백 데나리온어치의 빵을 사서 먹이라는 말씀이십니까?"

38 예수님께서 그들에게 물으셨습니다. "너희가 가진 빵이 얼마나 되는지 가서 알아보아라." 그들이 알아보고 나서 말했습니다. "빵 다섯 개와 생선 두 마리가 있습니다.

39 예수님께서 사람들에게 무리를 지어서 풀밭에 앉으라고 하셨습니다.

40 사람들은 백 명, 혹은 오십 명씩 떼를 지어 앉았습니다.

41 예수님께서 빵 다섯 개와 생선 두 마리를 들고, 하늘을 우러러보시며 감사 기도를 드리셨습니다. 그리고 제자들에게 빵을 떼어서 나누어 주도록 했습니다. 그리고 생선 두 마리도 나누어 주셨습니다.

42 모든 사람들이 배불리 먹었습니다.

43 제자들은 열두 광주리에 남은 빵 조각과 물고기를 거두어들였습니다.

44 빵을 먹은 남자 어른은 오천 명이었습니다.

 

30 The apostles returned to Jesus from their ministry tour and told him all they had done and taught.

31 Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.

32 So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone.

33 But many people recognized them and saw them leaving, and people from many towns ran ahead along the shore and got there ahead of them.

34 Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

35 Late in the afternoon his disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late.

36 Send the crowds away so they can go to the nearby farms and villages and buy something to eat.”

37 But Jesus said, “You feed them.”

“With what?” they asked. “We’d have to work for months to earn enough money[g] to buy food for all these people!”

38 “How much bread do you have?” he asked. “Go and find out.”

They came back and reported, “We have five loaves of bread and two fish.”

39 Then Jesus told the disciples to have the people sit down in groups on the green grass.

40 So they sat down in groups of fifty or a hundred.

41 Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. He also divided the fish for everyone to share.

42 They all ate as much as they wanted,

43 and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish.

44 A total of 5,000 men and their families were fed.

성경말씀: 시편 50:22-23

22 “하나님을 잊어 버린 사람들아, 회개하여라. 그렇지 않으면 내가 너희 몸을 찢을 것이니, 아무도 너희를 도와줄 사람이 없을 것이다.
23 하지만, 감사의 제사를 드리는 사람은 나를 높이는 사람들이다. 너희가 나의 길을 계속 지킨다면, 너희에게 하나님의 구원을 보여 줄 것이다.” (쉬운성경)

22 Repent, all of you who forget me, or I will tear you apart, and no one will help you.
23 But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me. If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salva-tion of God." (New Living Translation)

성경말씀: 누가복음 16:19-31

19 예수님께서 말씀하셨습니다. “어떤 부자가 있었다. 이 사람은 언제나 가장 비싼 옷을 입고 매일 호화스럽게 살았다.
20 한편, 그 집 대문 앞에는 나사로라는 한 가난한 사람이 누워 있었는데, 몸에는 부스럼투성이였다.
21 그가 부자의 식탁에서 떨어지는 부스러기로 주린 배를 채우기를 원했다. 심지어 개들이 와서 그의 부스럼을 핥았다.
22 어느 날, 그 거지가 죽어 천사들에게 이끌려 아브라함의 팔에 안겼다. 부자도 죽어 땅에 묻혔다.
23 부자는 지옥에서 고통 가운데 있다가 눈을 들어 보았다. 멀리 아브라함이 보이고, 나사로가 그의 품에 안겨 있는 것을 보았다.
24 그가 소리쳐 말했다. ‘아버지 아브라함이여, 제게 자비를 베풀어 주십시오. 제 혀를 적실 수 있도록 나사로의 손가락 끝에 물을 찍어 제게 보내 주십시오. 제가 이 불꽃 가운데서 몹시 고통을 당하고 있습니다.’
25 그러나 아브라함은 말했다. ‘얘야, 네가 살아 있을 때에 좋은 것을 마음껏 누렸고, 나사로는 온갖 나쁜 것을 겪은 것을 기억하여라. 이제 나사로는 여기서 위로를 받고, 너는 고통을 받는다.
26 이뿐 아니라 우리와 너희 사이에는 큰 구렁이 있어서 어느 누구도 너희를 돕기 위해 건너갈 수 없고 아무도 그 곳에서 우리에게로 건너올 수 없다.’
27 부자가 말했다. ‘그러면 제발 부탁입니다. 아버지, 나사로를 내 집안에 보내 주십시오.
28 제게 형제가 다섯 명이 있는데, 나사로가 가서 증언하여서 그들이 이 고통받는 곳에 오지 않게 해 주십시오.’
29 아브라함이 대답했다. ‘그들에게는 모세와 예언자들이 있다. 그들은 그 소리를 들어야 한다.’
30 부자가 말했다. ‘그렇지 않습니다. 아버지 아브라함이여! 누군가 죽었다가 살아나 그들에게로 가면 그들이 회개할 것입니다.’
31 아브라함이 그에게 대답했다. ‘만일 그들이 모세와 예언자들의 말을 듣지 않는다면, 죽은 사람이 다시 일어나도 그들은 믿지 않을 것이다.’”

19 Jesus said, "There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury.
20 At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores.
21 As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man's table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores.
22 "Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to be with Abraham①. The rich man also died and was buried, / ①Greek into Abraham's bosom
23 and his soul went to the place of the dead①. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. / ①Greek to Hades
24 "The rich man shouted, `Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.'
25 "But Abraham said to him, `Son, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish.
26 And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. No one can cross over to you from here, and no one can cross over to us from there.'
27 "Then the rich man said, `Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father's home.
28 For I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them so they don't end up in this place of torment.'
29 "But Abraham said, `Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote.'
30 "The rich man replied, `No, Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God.'
31 "But Abraham said, `If they won't listen to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even if someone rises from the dead.'"

성경말씀: 마가복음 10:35-45

35 세베대의 두 아들인 야고보와 요한이 예수님께 와서 말했습니다. “선생님, 우리의 소원을 들어 주시기 원합니다.”
36 예수님께서 물으셨습니다. “너희가 내게 무엇을 원하느냐?”
37 그들이 대답했습니다. “저희가 주의 영광스러운 나라에서 선생님의 오른쪽과 왼쪽에 앉게 허락해 주십시오.”
38 예수님께서 대답하셨습니다. “너희가 요구하는 것이 무엇인지를 알지 못하는구나. 너희는 내가 마시는 잔을 마실 수 있느냐? 그리고 내가 받는 세례를 받을 수 있느냐?”
39 그들이 대답했습니다. “예, 우리는 할 수 있습니다!” 예수님께서 그들에게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 마시는 잔을 너희가 마시며 내가 받는 세례를 너희가 받을 것이다.
40 그러나 내 오른쪽이나 왼쪽에 앉는 것은 내가 허락하는 것이 아니다. 이 자리들은 정해 놓은 사람에게 돌아갈 것이다.”
41 이 말을 듣고, 나머지 열 명의 제자들이 야고보와 요한에게 화를 내기 시작했습니다.
42 예수님께서 제자들을 부르시고 말씀하셨습니다. “너희가 아는 것처럼 이방 사람들의 통치자라는 사람들은 사람들을 지배하려고 한다. 고관들도 사람들에게 세도를 부린다.
43 그러나 너희는 그래서는 안 된다. 누구든지 너희 중에서 높아지려거든 종이 되어야 한다.
44 누구든지 너희 중에서 첫째가 되려거든 모든 사람의 종이 되어야 한다.
45 인자도 섬김을 받으러 온 것이 아니라, 섬기러 왔다. 인자는 자기 생명을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려고 왔다.”

35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came over and spoke to him. "Teacher," they said, "we want you to do us a favor."
36 "What is your request?" he asked.
37 They replied, "When you sit on your glorious throne, we want to sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left."
38 But Jesus said to them, "You don't know what you are asking! Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of suffering I am about to drink? Are you able to be baptized with the baptism of suffering I must be baptized with?"
39 "Oh yes," they replied, "we are able!" Then Jesus told them, "You will indeed drink from my bitter cup and be baptized with my baptism of suffering.
40 But I have no right to say who will sit on my right or my left. God has prepared those places for the ones he has chosen."
41 When the ten other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant.
42 So Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them.
43 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,
44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else.
45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many."
